REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years' experience as a Boring Mill Operator
  • Knowledge of machining equipment, including Heidenhain and Fanuc; also including milling
  • Must possess own tools for daily tasks (ex. micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical problem solving
  • Overhead cranes and forklift operating experience
  • Punctual; arrive to work, meetings and other work related functions on time and as scheduled
  • Meet agreed upon goals, production and objectives in a timely manner
  • Ability to work under pressure to maintain production scheduling deadlines
  • Ability to read, write, speak and take direction in English

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work in a clean, safe and organized manner, as outlined in the Health and Safety Program; this includes crane training and use, as well as material handling
  • Operate and use machine shop CNC equipment for manufacturing all machine components
  • Use all measuring and checking skills to verify that all machined components are correct to blueprints/CAD drawings
  • Set-up and operate boring mill by reading and interpreting CAD data, setting up and securing work pieces and tooling, verifying machine systems and tool sequence, setting cutting tools, programming to CAD data, machining work piece, checking finished work pieces, de-burring and prepping for assembly
  • Blueprint reading, material preparation, use of machine shop equipment, finishing of details, and all other tasks related to the manufacturing of all machine components
  • Plan and organize the production of molds by reading and interpreting engineering drawings, performing mold-related calculations; producing component sketch and dimensional chart; verifying work piece material; identifying and selecting tool steels; and establishing and organizing the mold-building process
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • Completion of secondary school education or equivalent preferred

  • Dependent on experience
