Job purpose

  • To operate injection molding machines in accordance to work instructions and quality alerts.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years' previous plastic injection mold machine operator experience strong asset
  • 1+ year previous experience in industrial manufacturing production (i.e.: metal stamping)

RESPONSIBILITIES, however not limited to:

  • Control operations of the press
  • Quality Control Analysis conducting inspections of products and processes to evaluate quality defects and report to appropriate personnel
  • Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it (call Production Manager, Maintenance or Quality)
  • Degate; trim excess material from parts
  • Maintain stable mold cycle times
  • Remove, inspect, sort, trim, assemble and/or package plastic molded parts from injection molding machines
  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments where applicable
  • Test product in holding fixtures to ensure proper functioning
  • Unload finished products from conveyor belts, pack them in appropriate packaging; label product packaging with proper ID label
  • Perform assembly of product as directed in accordance to Quality standards set out for job
  • Perform secondary sub-assembly functions (sort, assemble, package )
  • Complete daily production sheets ensuring accuracy
  • Correctly identifying product by attaching the designated traceability / identification information, quantity, date produced or inspected and employee identification number to packaging as directed
  • Consciously abide by all safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employee
  • Adhere to all quality standards as set out in ISO/IATF
  • Use and wear the protective clothing and equipment at all times: Steel toed safety shoes with CSA tag, safety glasses (wide and clear on front and sides), hearing protection (in required areas)
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Must have completed Grade 12 education or equivalency


Hourly wage rate and Shift information
:

$14.00 + 4% vacation pay

  • Day/Afternoon shift rotation - 2 weeks each
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime may be Mandatory - will be scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays
  • Some shifts may run longer and than scheduled end time
  • Day: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Afternoon: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
  • $1.00 shift premium when on the Afternoon shift
  • 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break, two (2) paid 15 minute breaks
  • Overtime will be paid 1.5 times the hourly rate if the work week exceeds 44 hours
  • Weekly pay, via direct deposit
  • Midnight shift steady - Sunday to Thursday
  • $1.50 shift premium for this midnight shift
  • Overtime may be Mandatory - will be scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights
  • Some shifts may run longer and than scheduled end time
  • 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
  • 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break, two (2) paid 15 minute break
  • Overtime will be paid 1.5 times the hourly rate if the work week exceeds 44 hours
  • Weekly pay, via direct deposit

ADDITIONAL PERKS if converted

  • Wage increase to $15.00 based on merit
  • Overtime will be paid 1.5 times the hourly rate if the work week exceeds 40 hours
  • Benefits will begin immediately
  • Pay schedule may change
