EDUCATION, and LICENSES
- CWB – AWB certified
- Forklift certified an asset
- Crane/Forklift certified an asset
- Completion of secondary school education is required
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years work experience welding MIG & TIG in all positions, ARC gas metal arc GMAW, Flux-cored arc FAW, shielded metal arc SMAW
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding and flame-cutting equipment
- Operate
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment; metal sharpening machines such as brakes, shears; metal straightening and bending machines
- Read and interpret welding blueprints and weld symbols
- Utilize tape measure in metric and imperial
- Identify weld defects
- Possess effective communication and organizational skills; English read, write, speak
- Physically able to stand, sit and walk for long periods, perform repetitive lifting 30lbs-50lbs (pounds), overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate all machines, tools and equipment listed in SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- MIG/TIG processing in all positions
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment
- Other duties as assigned
COMPENSATION AND SHIFT
- Hourly wage rate will depend on weld test results
- Steady days: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (possible longer shifts until 5:30 pm - must be flexible)
