Job Description

On behalf of our Tier 1 injection molding client we are currently recruiting for an experienced Industrial Electrician / Maintenance Electrician to join their team located in Stoney Creek, ON. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Conversant in PLC programming
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial maintenance role
  • Demonstrated working knowledge with hand tools, applicable software (PLC’s – Allen Bradley)
  • Prior experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment, robotics and PLC controlled machinery
  • Knowledge and experience in reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics
  • Demonstrated experience with transformers, switch gears, conveyors, pumps, VFD's, fire alarm panels, HVAC, lighting panels, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting relay logic.
  • Able to support extended hours as required performing and documenting all necessary maintenance and repairs for all production equipment and facilities
  • Able to work rotating shifts (1 week of each)
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50lbs and work at heights
  • Previous experience using computer software applicable to maintenance operations
  • Mechanical aptitude with demonstrated analytical skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak English

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures, to minimize downtime and maintenance costs, and manage equipment efficiencies
    • Daily perform and document scheduled maintenance as outlined on Maintenance Request logs; ensure safety issues are handled in timely manner. Support TPM system use
  • Trouble shoot equipment to identify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electronic problems
  • Repair, install and test the equipment (transformers, switch gears, conveyors, pumps, VFD's, fire alarm panels, HVAC, lighting panels, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting relay logic)
  • Installation of feeds for new equipment
  • Ensuring that plant and processing equipment is in safe and good working order
  • Assist in the resolution of equipment problems and the installation of new equipment
  • Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout and emergency response
  • Perform daily checks (continuity, current, voltage and resistance) and diagnostics on equipment
  • Design control panels and install circuit power distribution
  • Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial equipment and automation including PLCs, HMI, frequency drives and other related devices

  • Plan, design, purchase, install and test of new branch control circuits as well as maintenance to existing systems and equipment
  • Liaison with service reps, sales persons and engineers to repair and improve equipment
  • Perform and document minor modifications and repairs to customer tooling
  • Maintain an inventory of electrical parts, components, and high risk equipment
  • Interpret the Canadian Electrical Safety Code to the satisfaction of the inspection department for all construction
  • Promote continuous improvement in all areas of Maintenance
  • Adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the Quality System and practicing continuous improvement wherever possible
  • Comply with all company health and safety regulations ensuring a safe work environment at all times and reporting accidents, incidents and known or potential hazards immediately
  • Other Duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

LICENSE:

  • Licensed 442A or 433A or working towards license
  • Arc Flash Training is an asset

SHIFTS:

  • Two Shift Rotation
  • 6:00am - 3:00pm | 3:00pm - 12:00am
