***THIS IS A TEMPORAY POSITION, approx. 8 months, give or take/possible extension***
Education:
- 442A or 309A Electrician C of Q preferred however will consider those who have electrical build experience in machine tool build and automation
- Completion of High School education is required
- Completed Apprentice Program and Certification in the trade by the Province of Ontario or equivalent would be an asset
Work experience and skills you have:
- Work experience as an industrial electrician in machine tool build and automation
- Superior ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and ladder logic diagrams as applied to electrical systems and programmable logic controllers (PLC)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer facilities during installation, launch, and other support phases of our equipment
- Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, overhead reaching, bending over, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
- Ability to effectively communicate, read, write and speak in English
Daily responsibilities:
- Examine and review all relevant blueprints, schematic drawings, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, communication cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards of the CSA, UL, customer, and the company
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
- Install and test electrical motors, transformers, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems, and related components
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
- Install cable trays and raceways by referencing dimensioned layouts and specifications
- Assist in wiring and mounting of electrical enclosure panels and tooling and be able to prepare controls/electrical kits from information gathered on company data bases
- Install, maintain and calibrate industrial electrical equipment and related devices at customer locations for extended periods of time
- Provide the Controls Engineering department with the operational data and the other technical information relating to the controls, the electrical components, and the equipment and recommend modifications in design or process
- Wear personal perfective equipment (PPE) at all time, this includes steel toes CSA safety shoes, safety glasses and any job specific PPE
- Other duties as assigned
