Job Description

Are you motivated to be a part of an industry-leading organization? We are recruiting a CNC Machinist for a large global company and industry-leader in Automation and Assembly.

Compensation and Shift information:

  • Hourly wage dependent on experience - $25.25+
  • Shifts: *Will have to train for approx. 2-4 weeks on day shift
    • Friday-Saturday-Sunday 12 hours shift from 7:00 pm till 7:00 am (will be paid 40 hours)
    • Friday-Saturday-Sunday 12 hour shift from 7:00 am till 7:00 am (will be paid 40 hours)
  • Overtime pay is after 40 hours per week
  • Possible mandatory Saturdays

Core requirements:

  • 3+ years of work experience as a CNC Machinist is required
  • Proficient at blueprint interpretation to determine dimensions, tolerances and the sequence of machining operations using knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties and methodology
  • Experience with controllers such as Fanuc and Heidenhein
  • Physically able to stand, sit and walk for long periods, perform repetitive lifting 30lbs-50lbs (pounds), overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
  • Ability to effectively communicate, read, write and speak in English

Job Objectives:

  • Ensure that all lay-out lines, points and dimensions are accurately marked on the detail to be machined and that the machine is set-up in accordance with the lines, points and dimensions
  • Observe machining progress to verify conformance of the detail to specifications by using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, micrometers, Vernier and fixed gauges
  • De-burr and finish the detail after machining by filing, grinding or scraping
  • Monitor and maintain the machine and its functions as they relate to the general cleanliness of the machine, scheduled maintenance of the machine, coolant pressure, power, temperature and capacity
  • Understand the necessary tooling for specific machines to accomplish the machining per blueprint specifications
  • Load, evaluate and run specific programs
  • Input additions, deletions and change to the machining program as instructed by the CAM department
  • Wear personal perfective equipment (PPE) at all time, this includes steel toes CSA safety shoes, safety glasses
  • May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency

Education:

  • Completed Apprentice Program and Certification in the trade by the Province of Ontario and/or equivalent work experience
