• Day Afternoon rotation (Mon-Fri Start shifts starts/finish TBD)
• OR steady afternoons (Mon-Thurs 10 hrs shifts starts/finish TBD)
• If hired onto the client: Extended Health care, Vision, Prescription Glasses, Dental, Group RRSP Program

Your experience and abilities:

• 3-5 year's experience in a fabrication cutting work environment and the following:
  • Familiarity with general fabricating procedures and operations
  • Able to accurately use and read various measuring devices such as tape measure and angle finders
  • Able to work in both Metric and Imperial units
  • Knowledge of steel shapes such as tubes, channels and beams
  • Knowledge of various types of steel such as stainless steels, hot rolled, cold rolled
  • Able to operate overhead cranes up to 10 ton
  • Knowledge of lifting chains and other material handling devices to move material efficiently and safely
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Physically able to stand, sit and walk for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up 30lbs (pounds), overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
• Possess effective communication and organizational skills; Read, write, speak in English

Responsibilities:

• Read from a Cut List materials that are to be cut and the quantities
• Ensure that details are cut, in accordance with the specifications and tolerances required by the customer
• Follow established manufacturing procedures and work instructions
• Co-ordinate manufacturing requirements with the job scheduler/Supervisor
• Consult with the technical support group to maximize quality and productivity
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections of equipment and report the results of the inspections to plant management
• Ensure that maintenance of equipment is completed as scheduled and that records of equipment maintenance are readily available at all times
• Ensure that all safety devices are in place and functional on all equipment in the department and that no safety device is defeated or rendered temporarily non-functional by other operating personnel
• Identification of in coming and out going goods.
• Use or wear the personal perfective equipment (PPE), protective devices or clothing that the Client requires to be used or worn such as steel toes CSA safety shoes, safety glasses and dress code
• Other assigned duties
