Job Description

SKILLS

  • Must have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification- 433A
  • 3+ years' experience is required
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Strong mechanical background; knowledge of conveyors, gas plant, pumps, shop compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Able to use lathes and other machining tools, hand and power tools
  • Ability to read Ladder logic, familiar with Allen Bradley, controls considered and asset
  • Strong ability to multi task
  • Must have and maintain an appropriate and valid Ontario Driver's license
  • Sound problem solving/troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and developing alternative solutions
  • Wear personal protective equipment at all times - safety shoes/boots must have CSA tag, safety glasses must be wide and clear on the side and front
  • Able to operate a computer for work orders
  • Must be able to handle weight lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work in team environment and individually without supervision
  • Possess effective communication and organizational skills; English read, write, speak

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with manufacturing, metal fabrication, automotive assembly, equipment fabrication, automotive parts
  • Conveyors, gas plant and shop compressors, pumps
  • Assembly, installing and adjusting of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Start-up, testing, and shutdown operations
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate machine parts
  • Use of lathes and other machining tools, hand and power tools, fans and blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Hoists and other lifting devices, grinders, welding equipment, automated and robotics systems, electrical and electronic controls
  • Responsible to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts, fabricate parts required during overhaul
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Ability to input tasks and complete work orders in computer systems for tracking
  • Wear personal protective equipment at all times

EDUCATION

  • Completion of college or technical training is required - Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification- 433A
  • Completion of secondary school education or equivalent is required

  • Must be available for all mandatory overtime
