Job Description


  • 3+ years work experience welding aluminum with MIG and TIG
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints
  • Read and interpret weld symbols
  • Utilize tape measure in metric and imperial
  • Identify weld defects
  • Knowledge of welding gases
  • Be proficient in using various hand tools
  • Utilize tape measure in metric and imperial
  • Knowledge of numbers and dimensions
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Punctual, Responsible, Dependable, no absenteeism
  • Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
  • Possess effective communication and organizational skills; English read, write, speak


  • Be proficient using both MIG and TIG welders on aluminum plate (primarily 1/8" aluminum plate)
  • Read and interpreting blueprints, technique sheets, and other specifications
  • Plan the procedure, calculating dimensions and preparing the appropriate materials
  • Check the quality of all metal parts before assembling them for welding, cutting, or cleaning as necessary
  • Maintain dimension, strength, and evenness of surface of the metal parts
  • Carry out all instructions/directives issued by the Team leader or Shop Foreman, provided these instructions fall within safe operating practices
  • Perform all quality control inspections relative to the Welder role. Complete any paperwork, as required to ensure only high quality product is shipped.
  • Perform radiographic ultrasound, bubble, and other functionality tests
  • Assist in crating and recording finished product/panels in such a manner as to prevent damages during transportation
  • Work as a team member, assisting coworkers, thereby maintaining production rates and quality requirements, as well as a safe working environment
  • Assist in training new employees when required
  • Observe safety procedures at all times, staying up to date with ISO and FDA regulations and reporting any potential issues to management
  • Maintain clean work station and equipment, ensuring excellent working condition at the start and finish of each shift. Notify Supervision of any that are missing or not functioning properly
  • Use and wear the protective clothing and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent


  • 40+ hours per week
  • Steady Day and afternoon shifts available


  • $18.00 - $20.00/hr – will depend on weld test results
  • Overtime pay after 44 hours
  • Weekly pay, plus 4% vacation pay
