Job Description

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Mechanically inclined and hands on
  • Use of hand and power tools; pneumatic drills, rivet guns, caulking guns, grinders and sanders
  • Utilize tape measure in metric and imperial
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Punctual, Responsible, Dependable, no absenteeism
  • Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
  • Possess effective communication and organizational skills; English read, write, speak

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unload panels/skins from A-Frame (after being cut on CNC Router Table)
  • Be proficient in utilizing various pneumatic hand tools such as drills, rivet guns and caulking guns and in a safe manner
  • Perform all quality control inspections relative to the Panel Builder position; preliminary inspection of panels and inspection of finished product prior to crating
  • Visually inspect panels for damages/scratches and advise Team Leader or Shop Foreman of any defects
  • Complete any paperwork, as required to ensure only high quality product is shipped
  • Demonstrate willingness to carry out all instructions/directives issued by the Team leader or Shop Foreman, provided these instructions fall within safe operating practices
  • Work as a team member, assisting coworkers, thereby maintaining production rates and quality requirements, as well as a safe working environment
  • Assist in crating and recording finished product/panels in such a manner as to prevent damages during transportation
  • Assist in training new employees when required
  • Maintain clean work station and equipment, ensuring excellent working condition at the start and finish of each shift. Notify Supervision of any that are missing or not functioning properly
  • Use and wear the protective clothing and equipment
  • Follow all “in house” procedures, and all requirements in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent

WAGE

  • $15.00/hr
  • Overtime pay after 44 hours
  • Weekly pay, plus 4% vacation pay

SHIFTS

  • 40+ hours per week
  • Steady Days 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Steady Afternoon, 3:30 pm – 2:00 am, Monday to Thursday, possible Friday shifts available (4 hours)
ADDITIONAL PERKS
  • Wage increase to $16/hr after 600 hours worked
