Job Description


• Supervise and instruct a team of 6+
• Set priorities based on Customer requirements
• Assign tasks and adapt to changes in requirements quickly and efficiently
• Use handheld Tablet, and computer to record and report information to/from carriers and the
• Interact with the customer, carriers, and repair groups in a professional manner
• Drive new customer vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines in a safe and efficient manner
• Secure new customer vehicles to rail cars by using chains or chocks as required by manufacturer
• Set-up rail car bridge plates, raise and lower rail car decks, open/Close rail car doors and operate
loading ramps
• Inspect vehicles for damage
• Drive vehicles within the compound to/from staging areas
• Drive vehicles on public roads to locations <15km
• Various duties as assigned or required to help the facility function in a team environment
• Adhere to all AAR and Canada Labour Code, safety standards and customer regulations; e.g. PPE,
speed, spacing, attire, etc.
• Train new employees and temporary workers
• Ability to react to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned


• Knowledge and practical use of Office, computers, and inventory systems
• Able to give/follow directions, both written and verbal
• Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles
• Able to adhere to strict quality standards without variance
• Good visual ability
• Knowledge of the use of hand tools (wrenches, screw drivers, ratchets, etc.)
• Must have a good sense of balance
• Able to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the ground
• Able to push, pull, or carry up to 85 pounds
• Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather
• Work with a team of other rail associates
• Work in tight spaces on railcars condition
• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

High School Diploma or equivalent required
