Job Description

**MUST be able to work full-time 40+ hours per week ongoing**


  • 3+ years of WELDING FABRICATION WORK experience with steel and aluminum: MIG welding in all positions in all positions
  • Valid CWB Certifications is an asset
  • Able to verify dimensions, and alter dimensions to fit specifications
  • Strong reading and interpreting job specifications, blueprints, weld symbols, engineering or design drawings and schematics
  • Able to operate equipment for cutting, brazing, soldering, sharpening, fusing, bending
  • Identify weld defects
  • Use of tape measure (metric and imperial), manual, pneumatic and electric tools such as however not limited to: grinders (ie: angle), chop saw, and horizontal band saw, and blueprint reading for fabrication and assembly
  • All employees will have to have an excellent attendance record as well. No missed time will be permitted.
  • Ability to perform in high paced environments and maintain attention to detail
  • Able to work in a team environment and able to also work independently
  • Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, overhead reaching, bending over, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
  • Possess effective communication and organizational skills; English read, write, speak


  • Assembly and fabrication of automotive parts and electrical devices as per job specifications, blueprints, engineering, drawing and schematics
  • Verify dimensions, and alter dimensions to fit specifications
  • Use of tape measure, manual, pneumatic and electric tools such as however not limited to: grinders (ie: angle), chop saw, and horizontal band saw
  • Provide your own tape measure
  • Build prototypes and test the products
  • Provide own and wear proper safety shoes (CSA tag), safety glasses (clean and wide in the front and sides), and and neoprene gloves at all times while on shop floor
  • Provide own and wear hearing protection where required
  • Maintain and clean up around station upon completion of work
  • Use, wear and maintain the protective clothing and equipment at all times: Welding helmet and gloves, Safety shoes with CSA tag, safety glasses (wide and clear on front and sides), hearing protection (in required areas)
  • Reports to Plant Manager and/or General Manager
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent is required


  • $19.00-$21.00 per hour - Hourly wage is based on experience, skills and weld test results - plus 4% vacation pay while a MODERN Staffing employee, paid weekly via direct deposit.
  • Overtime pay after 44 hours


  • On-going 40+ hours per week
  • Steady Day shift
  • Monday to Friday: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
    8.5 hours scheduled shift - 30 minutes unpaid lunch = 8 hours paid
    Lunch break time: 11:00 pm
    Possible mandatory or voluntary Saturdays
  • Overtime hours must be approved by assigned company prior to working it
