EDUCATION
  • Completion of Grade 12 education is required
  • Post secondary education from recognized college in mold-making/machining an asset
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • The ability to work in an industrial setting, previous experience required
  • Looking for a self-starter, with the ability to read instructions and take directions well
  • Mechanically inclined; use of manual hand and power tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Responsible and dependable, no absenteeism
  • Must be aware of quality, productivity and safety standards as is relates to the job being performed
  • Work well in a team and independently (unsupervised)
  • Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50lbs (pounds), overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
  • Possess effective communication and organizational skills; English spoken, written and oral
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As directed by the supervisor, will be required to smooth edges on a mold, drilling, tapping of molds for new molds and for repair of molds.
  • Will be required to use pneumatic disc and die grinders, other basic tools and machinery, once trained
  • Perform work so that production standards are met
  • Visual Inspection - ensure 100% inspection for zero defects
  • Ensure quality expectations are met
  • Adhere to housekeeping and 5S initiatives
  • Wear Safety Shoes (CSA tag) and Safety Glasses (clear, wide on the front and side) at all times
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Lead

SHIFTS

  • Full-time 40-48 hours per week
  • Steady Day shift (subject to change!): 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • Must be available to work overtime and Saturdays when mandatory
  • Two 15 minute paid breaks provided, and one half hour unpaid lunch

WAGE

  • Hourly wage $14.00 - $15.00+ - will depend on experience, skill level, and proven ability to progress
  • Weekly 4% vacation pay
  • Weekly pay by direct deposit
  • Overtime will be paid 1.5 times the hourly rate if the work week exceeds 40 hours
