Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Pipefitter for our client in Windsor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping systems. These systems may include heating, cooling, water, gas, and other industrial applications. You will work closely with other skilled trades professionals to ensure that all piping systems are installed and maintained according to industry standards and local building codes.

OVERVIEW
  • Completed Apprentice Program and Certification in the trade by the Province of Ontario or equivalent would be an asset
  • Contract position (long term)
  • Rate of pay is based on experience
  • Starting ASAP on days (7am-3pm)
  • On a bus route




RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all pneumatic and hydraulic components are installed, tested, and functioning in accordance with customer specifications, drawings, assigned company, and safety standards
  • Be involved in line-up meetings for planning purposes and to ensure that estimated hours are accurate
  • Be involved during the design phase to provide input on controls design and to obtain advanced knowledge of job content
  • Organize material, lead and provide technical direction to outside contractors and internal apprentices
  • In conjunction with the build leader and other trades, ensure jobs are completed on time in accordance with project timelines and customer delivery schedules
  • Assume a troubleshooting role during the tryout phase of the equipment
  • Provide technical assistance in the installation of equipment at customer locations
  • Wear personal perfective equipment (PPE) at all time, this includes steel toes CSA safety shoes, safety glasses and any job specific PPE
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of High School education is required
  • Completed Apprentice Program and Certification in the trade by the Province of Ontario or equivalent would be an asset
  • Forklift and Overhead Crane operation experience
    • (in-house training/certification training if not already certified)
  • Ability to read and understand pneumatic and fluid drawings
  • Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer facilities during installation, launch, and other support phases of our equipment
  • Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, overhead reaching, bending over, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
  • Ability to effectively communicate, read, write and speak in English
  • Good Written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a "Team-Based" working environment
