Job Description

Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier is looking for Shipping & Receiving Clerks to join their team as they launch a new Just-In-Time facility in Windsor. Your dedication to the timely coordination of all shipping and receiving duties will be a key factor to the company’s success. Note; this is a desk position, the successful candidate will not be loading or unloading deliveries or moving stock.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate and timely transfer of necessary shipment documentation to truck drivers and customers; maintaining all required log books.
  • Co-ordinate schedule for all inbound loads and deliveries, including follow up with carrier companies with respect to driver problems and late trucks. Prepare audits as necessary. Manage customer returns per company policy.
  • Deal with inquiries from customers about shipments or ASN’s. Answer internal questions from MIS or Materials. Prepare customers information and distribute as required.
  • Verify incoming material versus packing slips and purchase orders; receive material in system. Notify proper department of receipt of goods. Notify proper departments of any discrepancies.
  • File own bills of lading, customs documents and shipping line-ups. Print all releases and inform schedulers of their completion. Reprocess as required.
  • Ensure there are no stock out occurrences; work with suppliers to expedite material in when notified of possible stock out.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of internal contractor insurance and NAFTA certificates on an annual basis.
  • Complete bi-annual review and update of all procedures for Shipping/Receiving to reflect current practices.
  • Follow safety procedures and comply with all related safety and security regulations.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition in accordance with established housekeeping standards. Comply with all company policies.
  • Comply with the facility’s World Class Manufacturing principles to meet the established targets and objectives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge/Skill/Experience):

  • Must have Work experience in the automotive industry (2-3yrs)
  • Secondary school diploma.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Experience in Shipping and Receiving in a Just-In-Time manufacturing facility an asset.
  • Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate an asset.
  • Demonstrated superior problem-solving skills.

Hiring 1 person per shift. Shifts are 7:00am-3:30pm and 4pm-12:30pm.

Overtime paid after 40 hours worked per week. Overtime required based on production demands.
