Job Description

On behalf of our injection molding client, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Team Lead to their team.

NOTE:

  • Midnight Shift

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring the ongoing adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System and encouraging continuous improvement wherever possible
  • Perform quality inspection duties on produced parts for defects
  • React to non-conforming data by notifying supervisor of discrepancies and initiate containment as appropriate to protect the customer
  • Pack previous shifts first/last off after visual inspection
  • Check operator and work instructions for completed training on the tool the operator is using
  • Train new and existing employees
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner – including SPC points & weights
  • Disposition nonconforming and suspect parts into appropriate containers to prevent contamination of finished goods
  • Detect and report machine malfunctions promptly to management and immediately notify Supervisor or Quality of all discrepancies
  • Participate in team problem solving activities (i.e., 8D’s, communication meetings, etc.)
  • Resolve problems by analyzing data, investigate issues, identify solutions (sorting), recommend corrective action in accordance with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Write daily shift reports and distribute through email to all interested parties
  • Enter scrap into Ujagami as the scrap occurs
  • Follow escalation process when as needed
  • Work in compliance with either the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and/or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration CFR 29 1910 in coordination with all associated regulations.
  • Ensure workers wear appropriate PPE and uses protective devices, measures and procedures
  • Provide workers with information and instructions required for health and safety
  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker
  • Be aware of environmental & emergency procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent work experience at minimum
  • 2 years prior work experience in plastics or automotive industry is an asset
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Supervision experience is an asset
  • Training experience
  • Effective communication skills, verbal, and written
  • Computer skills – data analysis
  • Ability to using various measurement techniques
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Manual dexterity skills
  • Good attention to detail
