Millwright (433A Certified) – Tilbury, ON

Overview
- Full-Time, Union Position
- Continental 12-hour shifts
- Rotation of days (6:30 AM – 6:30 PM) and nights (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
- $44.48/hour (plus shift premiums and C.O.L.A.)
- Average paid 46 hours per week
- Must hold valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience required
- Reliable transportation required
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues; determine appropriate repair solutions
- Execute preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and planned repairs
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Communicate with other departments to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
Requirements
- Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification
- Minimum 3 years’ Millwright experience
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Union experience considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Physically capable of prolonged standing, walking, lifting (30–50 lbs), overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
Compensation Details
- Base rate: $44.48/hour
- Sunday premium: 8 hours paid at double time + 4 hours regular pay
- Day shift premium: $0.85/hour
- Afternoon shift premium: $1.20/hour
- Cost of Living Allowance (C.O.L.A.): $0.75/hour worked
- Employees work an average of 42 hours per week and are paid an average of 46 hours per week due to the Sunday double-time structure.
Schedule
This facility operates on a continental rotation:
- Two weeks of nights followed by two weeks of days
- Employees work 14 days per month
- After completing a 36-hour week, employees receive three consecutive days off before rotating shifts
